GetResponse Affiliate Program
GetResponse has two affiliate programs, which anyone can join. Its self-hosted program uses custom affiliate tracking software, while the other program is hosted on the CJ Affiliate network. Let’s review the benefits, drawbacks, commission rate, cookie duration, and program details. Here’s a snapshot.
Category: Online services, marketing
Cost per action (CPA): Cost per sale
Commission rate: 33% or $100
Commission type: Recurring and nonrecurring options
Cookie duration: 120 days
Payout threshold: $50
Payment options: Bank account and PayPal
Affiliate software/network: In-house custom and CJ Affiliate
Program Benefits
The affiliate landing page is excellent. An affiliate landing page is supposed to be informative, and GetResponse hits the mark. There’s a brief FAQ section with more details about the program inside the affiliate portal.
The signup process is uncomplicated, and approval times on CJ Affiliate are usually quick. Most affiliate programs are open to anyone joining, but a small percentage only allows existing customers to participate, for example, ActiveCampaign.
Affiliate marketing is a game of addition and inclusion, not subtraction and exclusion, which GetResponse understands. Affiliates can earn excellent recurring and one-time commissions.
The self-hosted program pays a 33 percent recurring commission. The recurring payout will last for as long as the user remains a paying customer. If the customer upgrades to a higher-priced plan, your commission will increase.
The CJ Affiliate program pays $135 for every sale. Both programs have 120-day cookies. GetResponse provides an above-average conversion period compared to the standard 30 days that many merchants offer. Also, the lengthy cookie duration supports its 30-day free trial.
The payout threshold is low. As GetResponse states, “In order to qualify for the payout during the Commission Run (in between 15th and 20th), the balance in your account should exceed $50 on the last day of the preceding month.
Also, if this is the first payout that you are receiving from us, we may keep it from one to up to three months due to additional anti-fraud checks.” On CJ Affiliate, the payment threshold is also $50. There are different payment methods available, depending on the region.
Deep linking is available for both programs. Deep linking is how an affiliate creates a link to a specific page on the merchant’s site. For example, instead of using a generic homepage affiliate link, I can link to an article related to my post.
GetResponse gives you the ability to deep-link to any page on its site, which is advantageous given how many resources it has. GetResponse has excellent affiliate marketing materials, which are available in multiple languages. It covers all the bases including:
Banners and text ads
Email message templates
Email signature text
Infographics
Videos
A company logo pack
There’s a full-time affiliate marketing manager because “even experts sometimes need advice.” When a merchant has the staff to support publishers, it quickens processes and shows commitment. Additionally, GetResponse has an in-depth FAQ page.
GetResponse has expanded its product portfolio to become a 360 solution. It used to be only an email marketing provider, but now it offers critical tools to support various marketing goals. Therefore, its value proposition has increased, which can lead to higher conversion rates.
Secondly, GetResponse is a well-established company that’s been in business for a couple of decades. You can have every confidence that you’re sending your traffic to a reputable enterprise.
Program Drawbacks
Reviews are mixed. Search for “GetResponse reviews,” and you’ll find users who have opinions across the board. I’m not sure why the feedback varies wildly, but I prefer to deal with merchants that have mostly high ratings no matter where I look. You should read some of the reviews to see if the comments are valid.
GetResponse doesn’t offer a free plan. Free plans are standard and much better than free trials. Free accounts are useful to get customers “hooked” and to increase conversion rates to paid plans. MailerLite, Mailchimp, and many others offer free accounts.
Making Money
Can you make $1,000 a month as a GetResponse affiliate? It’s unlikely that you will make that amount or a significant income. GetResponse offers good affiliate programs, but the marketing software landscape is crowded, which produces a lot of options for customers.
However, converting users under the recurring commission scheme can provide reliable monthly passive income. Where should GetResponse rank in your marketing activities? Unless you’re a customer and passionate about its services, it should be a low to mid priority.
I recommend joining GetResponse’s affiliate program because it pays high commission rates, and I’ve made money with it. Furthermore, it’s a Digital Fodder top 40 affiliate program. I prefer the self-hosted application because first-party links are more advantageous and efficient compared to third-party links.
