GoHighlevel is a new-age marketing tool that attempts to consolidate the most useful marketing tools under a single umbrella. It’s a marketer’s best friend.
There are a lot of GoHighLevel Reviews out there due to the fact that it has really taken off recently as a sought after solution for internet marketing agencies, SEO companies, and all different types of online businesses.
However, most of said reviews are either fake or not from actual users.
I’ve been using GoHighLevel heavily, and with multiple clients, for well over a year now — so we feel that I’ve got more than enough experience and usage to give a real & honest review.
Essentially, the high-level marketing platform contains virtually everything that the vast majority of agencies need to manage their clients, leads, websites, funnels, calendars and multiple other things that are needed to acquire, maintain & retain customers.
You can get an awesome “tech stack” for a small fraction of what you would normally pay — without all the learning and setup of multiple systems — and it’s simple enough that even non-tech-savvy people can set it up.
If you’re looking for the TLDR of this GoHighlevel review, here it is: 100% give it a shot, you won’t regret it. GoHighlevel is the tool of the decade – completely replacing the previous titans like Clickfunnels for landing pages and Pipedrive/Hubspot for CRMs.
The massive value proposition that it brings to the table is that you can get an insanely profitable tech stack for a fraction of what you would normally pay, while making it simple enough that a non-tech savvy person could set it up.
Personally, I don’t like sacrificing quality for a cheaper price and I’m happy that GoHighlevel, despite being less expensive, is actually an upgrade.
Later in this GoHighlevel review, I’ll go into more detail on how we use GoHighlevel, but for now I want to give you a summary to help you figure out if it’s right for you:
GoHighlevel helps us with:
Client acquisition.
Link building (It’s an SEO thing).
Automating our business (this was a monumental & breakthrough moment for our agency).
Client fulfillment.
It’s our ultimate client retention tool.
Serves as a scalable CRM for ourselves and for our clients.
Reputation management.
Building out funnels.
Call tracking, revenue tracking, and lead tracking.
Increasing ROI on adspend and existing clients.
If you’re someone who is looking for ways to save time through business automation and make money, then this tool is the right one for you.
There’s a few more things you should know about “what GoHighlevel is” and does:
You can white label it as your own tool.
It focuses heavy on automation. This frees up your time so you can focus on what matters.
It’s infinitely scalable. Their agency plan starts at $300/mo and allows you to have unlimited accounts. We use this feature at our agency to create accounts for our clients, for our own websites, and for all our lead-generation GMBs.
It’s cloneable. If you’re a digital marketer, I’m going to be giving you templates that you can upload to your account to hit the ground running. Once you create your first “build” for your clients, then you can clone them for the next. This is powerful for people are niche specific.
Is Gohighlevel right for you?
Starting off, I want to address Gohighlevel’s weaknesses. It’s not a perfect solution for someone who is into e-commerce. If that’s you, I would stick to Shopify and all of it’s plug ins.
Aside from that, GoHighlevel is a great fit if:
You’re already paying for and using any of the services above. GoHighlevel will consolidate all your tech under one umbrella. This will simplify your stack, save you time, stress, and money.
You are a digital marketer who is a freelancer, has an agency, or focuses on affiliate. Bonus points if you focus on SEM or Social Media advertising.
You sell online courses or digital products that involve funnel building, auto-responders, or membership areas.
You want new, creative, and easier ways of picking up digital marketing/agency clients.
You’re looking for ways of simplifying your technology, reducing costs, and would prefer to gain power instead of losing it.
For this GoHighlevel review, let’s talk about the negatives first because that list is a lot shorter than the positives.
GoHighlevel: My First Experience
My first experience with GoHighlevel was that the software felt somewhat overwhelming. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but diving into GoHighlevel requires a certain mindset.
Because GoHighlevel does so much, it feels like there’s a serious learning curve. To combat that, and to properly train our team we had to approach it with a “one step at a time” mentality.
Here are some of the areas where we just put the time into understanding:
What triggers are and how to use them.
How to combine triggers and campaigns to automate a large portion of our business.
Once we figured out those two things, by sitting there and reading all the options, the rest became easy.
For us to learn how to use GoHighlevel it took about 2 days of being DEEP in the software.
However, to make sure we help you, when you sign up using this link below (it’s connected to our GoHighlevel account), you’ll automatically get access to our Digital Agency Template and to a course that teaches you how to use GoHighlevel.
Overall though, GoHighlevel feels overwhelming because it’s 15 different tools in 1. However, taking the time to learn all the other tools that we replaced like Mail Chimp, Clickfunnels, Leadpages, CallFire, Zapier, WordPress took way longer cumulatively than just learning how to use GoHighlevel.
Why you SHOULD NOT use GoHighlevel
Before I talk about how and why you should use Go Highlevel, I want to share with you why you shouldn’t use it and who it’s not for.
While Go Highlevel is releasing major updates every month that add even more utility to the platform, there is one specific area where they’re lacking and will be for the foreseeable future.
The downside is that Go Highlevel cannot store client documentation – meaning, you can’t use it to store documents in a few major industries like medical, legal, and loan industries.
Downsides Of GoHighLevel
Nothing is perfect. I noticed a few downsides for GoHighLevel compared to competitors like Clickfunnels.
Bad Part #1: No Integromat integration.
Transferring my clients over from zapier wasn’t too hard.
Other agency owners have been raving to me about zapier competitor Integromat. Missing this integration put off jumping into GoHighLevel. They, and I, would love to see an integration between the two.
Bad Part #2: Lack of independent content on YouTube or Google
It would be good to see more Independent Resources and content by users. This would help learning go above functionality toward seeing what techniques and campaigns are working now from people using the software with clients.
Only a handful of people are making YouTube videos about it, for instance. This too should improve over time, not least with their generous affiliate programme of 40% lifetime revenue.
Downside #3: Steep learning curve
The scope of what GoHighLevel can do is pretty huge, and I can definitely see it be intimidating to some. That’s why there are so many avenues of support during the onboarding process to make this easier.
But they’ll only help if you use them all. The interface is intuitive enough you will learn over time. It just requires patience.
Verdict
The downsides don’t put me off using the software & I expect them to diminish as the user base grows. Also, GoHighLevel makes it clear during onboarding they listen to & implement feedback. You can submit recommendations, & make feature requests through support channels or the Facebook grow, where co-founder Sean Parker is very active.
I think it’s clear where I stand. GoHighLevel helped me retain clients, and win more business.
It’s got everything I need to get my clients better results:
Automated follow ups
Time-saving/outsourceable tasks
Cost-saving, especially at scale.
Despite this downside though, thousands make the switch anyways as the software brings such a high ROI to the table that in the end it’s totally worth it.
